Services - Oil & Gas pipelines
.......................................................................................................................................

Installation of oil and gas pipelines or Hydrocarbon pipelines is one of the major areas of our expertise where we have decades of experience to our credit. We offer service related to the installation of country pipelines like

Surface preparation of pipes.
Shot blasting of pipes.
Painting of pipes.
Corrosion coating on pipes.
Coaltar enamel coating on pipes.
Cathodic protection etc.
Bending of pipes.
Horizontal boring at Rail and road crossings.
Inspection quality control, and NDT services.

The job mainly involves Stringing, Welding, Excavation, X’-ray and other ND testing, Lowering, Joint coating, Pigging, Hydraulic testing, Commissioning etc. We have a highly skilled team of workmen and project management staff ready to work at any extreme conditions. We also have a good fleet of construction equipment required to carryout these services. We are also equipped with specialized machineries for activities like Road Boring , Bending Cathodic protection corrosion coating etc.,

Road Boring Equipment.

This equipment consists of a power source, Torque converter, Auger, Cutter etc. The auger and cutter are protected by the torque converter, which ensures smooth and shock free drive. The heavy duty thrust type bearing provided to drive the auger and cutter is capable of exerting a horizontal load to the order of 5 to 50 MT.

The Power source is a diesel driven Electrical power generator and an electrically operated hydraulic power pack. This delivers the required torque and force for the system.

The Torque converter is a system of fluid coupling, reduction gear unit and chain drive.

The Auger is made of suitable abrasion resistant steel and of standard length of five meters. Conveying of excavated and reamed earth is done with the movement of auger. The Cutter assembly fitted in front of the first auger is fitted with cutting teeth of various hardness to suit the soil. They are also replaceable on wear.

Clamping.

Internal lineup clamps are used to make fast and accurate pipe to pipe fit up on sizes above 200 NB. For small-bore lines external clamps are used.

Pipe Bending.

The equipment is hydraulically operated to produce smooth and accurate bends in pipes.

The pipe is positioned and moved through the equipment by means of a traveling hoist which is an inbuilt feature of the equipment. The power required for the operation is through a hydraulic power pack driven by an electric motor.

Edge beveling.

Normally the pipes are ordered with factory made bevels. However edge beveling will be required to be done at places of tie-ins and turning points. We use a self-propelled beveling machine which can adopt to any size and bevel angle. The chain mounted equipment travels around the pipe at the speed, which gives a smooth bevel.

Holiday Detection.

After coating and before installation of the corrosion coated pipe the coating is tested for integrity using a 30000 volts Holiday testing machine. This equipment is used to pin point the areas of improper coating or locations of damage. The locations identified as holidays are marked and repaired before it is reexamined.

Night Caps.

Night caps are used to cover the pipeline ends during construction to avoid foreign materials and small animals entering the pipeline during non working hours.

Belt Slings.

Use of belt slings to handle the coated pipes minimizes the damage caused to the coating during installation. Care will be taken by the safety personnel to size and select the slings for every application.

Pigging.

Various types of pigs are used to perform cleaning, gauging, filling, dewatering, swabbing etc.,

Pipeline insulators.

Insulators are used to insulate the carrier pipe from the casing pipe while providing the required mechanical strength to carry the load of pipeline during installation and subsequent operation. These are normally fabricated from injection-molded polyethylene.

Pipeline End Seals.

These are used to close either side of the casing pipe to keep the space between the carrier and casing empty. This is also a requirement in installation of Cathodic protection at the crossings.

Hydraulic testing.

Apart from all the quality measures like X’-ray and ultra sonic tests, the pipelines are generally passed through a hydraulic test procedure. The line is filled with specified quantity of suitable water after cleaning and flushing. Cleaning flushing and water filling are done with suitable pigs to ensure minimum entrapment of air. The line is then pressurized with a suitable hydraulic test pump. The measurement of the quantity of water used, Temperature, Pressure and other variables are recorded for evaluation. The pressure and temperature are recorded on a recorder for a period of more than 24 hours. These data will be analyzed and compared to the theoretical values to confirm passing of the test.

We have project site and office at a few other states outside tamilnadu and are constantly on the lookout for challenging pipeline jobs without any boundary of state or country.
