Services - Fabrication of Bends

Oil and Gas are transported through steel pipelines of size ranging from 3 inches to 24 inches. These pipelines are normally designed as piggable lines.

For piggable pipelines the change in direction at Turning points are negotiated using bends. Usage of elbow of 1 or 1.5 D. radius are restricted to allow free movement of pig. These bends range from a radius value of 10 D for short radius bends and 30 to 40 D for long radius bends. Bending of pipe is a very special job and the normal ovality limit of 5 % is considerably difficult.

We at Esses Engineers have developed and are using a Pipe bending machine having hydraulic pipe movement and jacking. The jacks and cylinder are activated by high pressure hydraulic oil fed from a hydraulic power pack. We are comfortable in bending of pipe up to36” size.

Pipe Bending equipment.

The equipment is hydraulically operated to produce smooth and accurate bends in pipes. The pipe is positioned and moved through the equipment by means of a traveling hoist which is an inbuilt feature of the equipment. The power required for the operation is through a hydraulic  power pack driven by an electric motor.
