Services - Cathodic Protection
.......................................................................................................................................

Cathodic Protection is an engineering technique used to protect under ground and immersed structure from corrosion. Iron and Steel being the most used engineering materials, Cathodic Protection is mainly intended to protect it from corrosion.

Cathodic Protection is one of the areas where we have acquired expertise and skill. The following major activities associated.

Soil resistivity and field surveys

Selection and design of suitable system.

Conceptional design calculations

Procedure for installation and supervision

Stray current and interference studies

Testing and Commissioning.

aintenance during operation.

Generally the Cathodic Protection can be classified into two types.

Impressed current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) System.

Sacrificial anode or galvanic method.

The ICCP System, will provide an external current from a DC power source (rectifier) to be impressed up on the anode at a predesigned value. Anode such as Hisilicon Iron, Platinized Titanium or Niobium etc are used. This type is used when higher protection currents are required.

We use Magnesium, Zinc or Aluminum anodes for sacrificial method. In this method the structure remains in electrical contact with anode through electrolyte (earth). We have experience in this field for more than 2 decades. We also have an equipped workshop for CP components and fixtures.
